Before Truth Review

Before Truth is a released Roblox horror investigation by Johnpcps / Eagle Studios. You play a detective pulled into a missing mother-and-daughter case, survive a stalker creature that punishes staring, and work keypads that refuse copy-paste spoilers. Chapters 1 and 2 are out. Chapter 3 is not. There are no promo redeem codes. Online co-op is real, including larger Chapter 2 instances.

This review is for players deciding whether to hit Play, not for spoiling the lab beat. Mechanical how-tos live on How to beat and the walkthroughs.

What it does well

Detective fantasy with teeth. The mansion wants you to read. Second drawers matter. The kitchen pad’s Kitchen=1 / Living Room=2 / Washroom=3 map is a teaching moment, not busywork. Randomized orders stop the entire internet from ruining Chapter 1 with one viral number.

Co-op that is actually useful. One player on the bathroom paper, one on the kitchen pad, one calling “look away” is better design than four people stacked in a doorway. See Co-op tips.

Tone. Domestic rooms plus stalker pressure plus David Johnson’s antagonistic shadow is a clearer identity than generic Roblox screamers that only chase.

Honest length. Two chapters is a campaign you can finish, not a live-ops treadmill. Timeline: Chapter timeline.

What will frustrate people

Dark readability. If you hate flashlight games, you will hate searching wood-grain papers. Controls helps; it cannot add a brightness slider the place does not ship.

Creature camera rules. Looking at the stalker is a wipe condition more than a cinematic. Learn How to survive or you will review the game as “unfair” when you stared.

Misinformation gravity. Search results still advertise promo codes and fixed 9-digit “PC codes.” Those searches belong on Promo codes and Letter codes, not in your first hour.

No official Trello / live roadmap UI. Players expecting weekly sim-game drops will bounce. Studio news lives on the Roblox place and Eagle Studios group—Links Hub.

Who should play

Play if you like puzzle horror, co-op callouts, and reading environmental story. Play if you can accept that items are keys and screwdrivers, not a shop—Items. Play if you want a mansion you can learn by name—Mansion map.

Skip if you want daily redeem codes, combat loadouts, or a huge map with a GPS. Skip if jump scares and look-away rules make you motion-sick or angry. Skip if you only wanted Chapter 3; it is not out—Chapter 3 status.

Chapters as a package

Chapter 1 is the mansion literacy exam. Chapter 2 is denser, asylum-leaning continuation with the same grammar. Together they are the released game. Difficulty comparison: Chapter difficulty and Puzzle difficulty. Story after you finish: Ending explained and Characters.

Scripts will not make this a better review. Automation fights the point of the case—Script safety.

Fair score in words, not stars

Recommend with caveats: excellent for a small Eagle Studios horror place, weak as a codes-and-cosmetics Roblox product (because it is not that product). The kitchen randomization is a feature. The missing redeem UI is a feature. Creature look-away is a feature that needs a warning label, which this wiki already prints.

Before Truth is a detective episode with a monster attached. Judge it on whether you want that loop—not on whether a fake codes table refreshed today.
