How to Beat Before Truth
Win both released chapters without fake redeem codes.
“How do you beat Before Truth?” means finishing the released investigation, not farming a simulator. Johnpcps / Eagle Studios shipped Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 on Roblox. You play a detective on a missing mother-and-daughter case, survive a stalker creature, and uncover David Johnson’s role. There is no skip button and no promo redeem codes.
This page is the win-condition map. Use sibling walkthroughs for room-by-room routing.
What “winning” actually is
Chapter 1 is beaten when you complete the mansion evidence chain and reach the underground laboratory beat—the trap that reveals the case was never a simple missing-persons call. Chapter 2 is beaten when you push the mystery through the later building / asylum-leaning spaces and close that episode’s loop. Both are released. Chapter 3 is not a required win condition because it is not a shipped episode—see Chapter 3 status.
Online co-op is allowed, including four-player Chapter 2 instances. Solo clears are possible; they are slower on keypads.
Beat Chapter 1 in six gates
- Accept the detective loop — read notes, do not speed-run past drawers. Primer: Getting Started.
- Survive look-away rules — do not stare at the creature. How to survive.
- Solve the kitchen pad — bathroom second drawer, Kitchen=1, Living Room=2, Washroom=3, randomized order. Kitchen code.
- Collect keys and tools — servant’s bedroom key, screwdriver for vents, batteries where needed. Items.
- Finish computer / letter puzzles — printed letters and longer digit strings are in-world, not Twitter gifts. Letter codes.
- Enter the lab beat — the mansion investigation closes when you follow evidence underground. Full route: Chapter 1 walkthrough. Rooms: Mansion map.
If you skip a gate, the game feels “bugged.” It usually is not.
Beat Chapter 2 without unlearning Chapter 1
Chapter 2 continues the same grammar: flashlight, papers, pads, co-op callouts, creature pressure. The spaces get heavier. Keep roles—scout, operator, lookout—especially in larger lobbies. Walkthrough: Chapter 2 walkthrough. Team page: Co-op tips. Difficulty: Chapter difficulty.
Do not import Chapter 1 kitchen digits into Chapter 2. Randomization and new rooms punish copy-paste.
What will not beat the game
- Promo lists promising coins or skips — Promo codes.
- A single YouTube four-digit code filmed in someone else’s lobby.
- Executors sold as “complete chapter instantly.” Read Script safety.
- Waiting for Chapter 3 before playing. Chapters 1–2 already constitute the released campaign.
Story win vs mechanical win
Mechanically you beat a chapter by opening the last required path. Narratively you beat it by understanding that David Johnson is not a helpless husband and that the creature is part of the trap. Spoiler discussion belongs on Ending explained and Characters. Play first if you want the scare; read after if you want the thesis.
Suggested session plan
Hour 1: Controls + survive + kitchen.
Hour 2: Items + Chapter 1 walkthrough.
Hour 3: Chapter 2 walkthrough with assigned roles.
After credits: Ending explained + Chapter timeline.

Soft-lock recovery
If you cannot “beat it” after 20 minutes:
- Re-open the last drawer with the flashlight on.
- Re-check whether your kitchen paper still matches the pad you are typing.
- Ask who is holding the screwdriver or bedroom key.
- Watch one mid-article video on the matching guide—never five overlapping walkthroughs at once.

Beat Before Truth the way it was built: evidence, look-away, your lobby’s codes, then the next door. That is the win.
